Abstract

In April 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Medan City of 1.72 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.04.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.12 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.35 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.26 percent; health group by 1.81 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.27 percent; education group by 0.88 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.33 percent; and personal care and other services group by 12.07 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Medan City in April 2025 was 1.31 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Medan City in April 2025 was 1.19 percent.
