Abstract

In October 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Medan City will be 1.88 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.40.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.96 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.61 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.64 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.01 percent; health group at 0.46 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.02 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.07 percent; education group at 0.87 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.96 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 8.34 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decline in the index was the transportation group by 0.98 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Medan City in October 2024 is 0.10 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Medan City in October 2024 is 0.81 percent.
